Jacob Uhlenkott

The 5th-Generation Family Business Leader

USA

Jacob Uhlenkott is a strategist, entrepreneur, and advisor to family capital with expertise in political campaign leadership, regenerative infrastructure, and legacy-driven development. As a fifth-generation Idahoan, he represents a family enterprise deeply rooted in the Camas Prairie of Idaho, where his ancestors established ten homesteads in the late 1800s. Beyond farming, they financed and built two Benedictine monasteries— including the still-active Monastery of St. Gertrude in Cottonwood. This early commitment to land, faith, and community laid the foundation for all that followed.

Over more than a century, the Uhlenkott family has built a constellation of multigenerational businesses and trusts across diverse industries, including:

  • Uhlenkott Farms – Multi-thousand-acre farming operation in Idaho producing grains, hay, and livestock (est. early 1900s)
  • AWS Steel – Structural steel fabrication company founded in the 1990s, now producing over 20 million pounds of steel per year and employing nearly 100 full-time employees
  • Uhlenkott Well Drilling – Founded in the 1970s, drilling over 200 water wells annually across Idaho and the Pacific Northwest
  • Uhlenkott Pump Service and Supply – Water engineering and pump systems company with a 5,000+ client base, specializing in rural and agricultural water infrastructure
  • Cottonwood Ranch & Primal Beef – A regenerative ranching and premium beef retail business based in Virginia, founded in the 2010s, now one of the largest operations of its kind in the state
  • Krown Impact – A public benefit company co-founded with the Habsburg family, focused on regenerative agriculture and resilient communities across the U.S.
  • Triumvirate Group – Our newest venture, founded in 2024, is a selective advisory firm helping legacy families navigate the complexities of generational transition, asset protection, and long-term impact strategy

As they look toward the 5th and 6th generations, Jacob and his family focus on balancing tradition and adaptability by:

  • Restructuring ownership and governance to engage the next generation,
  • Expanding education and mentorship programs for future family leaders, and
  • Strengthening shared values and purpose through collaborative ventures.

“Our question is not, How do we preserve the past? but rather, How do we build a future our ancestors would be proud of?” says Jacob. As the spokesperson for the Uhlenkott Family Legacy Fund, and a representative of Triumvirate Group and Krown Impact, he collaborates with family offices and mission-aligned investors to design high-impact ventures in public affairs, land stewardship, and systemic change. He also serves as an ambassador for the Family Business Center.
